Skip Nelson demonstrating sailing for young David.

One of the many things we are thankful for having Skip around.

RIP: Skip Nelson

Charlie as a pirate

Mark Pickart wrote, "Posting Charlie's pose of a "Pirate" as a tribute to a very dear friend of mine. Skip Nelson ( my boys and I called him the Pirate) passed away last night on his boat where he spent winters. Our side of Little Blake lake will never be the same, he will be dearly missed and was truly one of a kind."

Skip was probably the most senior "resident" on the east side of Little Blake. He grew up spending time in the family cabin, and he was in his early 70s. He knew people and stories from the days when the cabins were just fishing shacks where guys spent weekends with lots of beer and bait on the lake. He was always generous and helpful and just an all-round good guy. He will be missed.
