Behind the times
Okay, it's been nearly 2 weeks since I last reported here. We were at Sidetrack for a wonderful weekend a week ago, but I never got around to writing it up.
We worked and I did some reading. Maybe I'll get to the lake in a couple days. Next weekend will be near the end, since we'll be in Indiana the following weekend.

It was a quiet weekend in Polk County
It was a quiet weekend at the cabin called Sidetrack. We were there from Thursday afternoon to Tuesday morning.
There was no lake association meeting and there was no decorated boat parade. Okay.
Neighbors to the north were no shows. Neighbors to the south had guests. We were pretty much on our own.
Sank hosted us for dinner Sunday over on the big lake and we had a great time.
I read two pretty good books, did a bit of gardening, canoed up the river, listened to the eagles, pileated woodpeckers, geese, loons, and other birds. The stars and the half moon were wonderfully bright.
The weather was great. Cafe Wren was hospitable, the wifi perfect, and the bagles and coffee were good.
I think I'll be ready to go back for more after doing some laundry and catching up on some work I should have done.
