April
29, 1942 – January 14, 2014 Beloved mate, father and grandfather, Dean
Marshall Nelson passed away suddenly on January 14, 2014. He's survived
by devoted life partner Deborah Taylor, his loving daughter Michelle
Popel, son Mark Nelson (Katrin), grandchildren Preston Anderson and
Lauren Popel, favorite cousin Jon Lyman and many loving friends. Dean
grew up in the Midway area of St. Paul, MN, and enjoyed spending time at
the family cabin in Wisconsin, especially with his grandparents Arthur
and Emma Lyman. Dean and his first mate, Deborah lived their dream
sailing the Caribbean for many years. A fantastic storyteller, Dean was
truly fun to be around—he loved all people and living creatures and they
in turn loved him. He will be missed by family and friends. Dean was
preceded in death by his parents Harold and Violet Nelson. Details of a
Celebration of Life for Dean and interment to follow.
